Asa [One Year Portraits]

I had the privilege of meeting up with Asa and his family a couple of weeks ago to do some shots to document his first birthday, although we were a couple of months late! Asa is one handsome little dude! He has lashes to die for, a charming grin, and thick black curls. Why is it that the boys always get these amazing lashes??? So not fair.

Sweet family, thank you for letting me capture this moment in your family’s life!

Meet the Baughmans!

They are a fantastic family with two little boys who have fun, adventurous personalities. They were a pleasure to photograph and a blast to be with. And as a side note, it was pouring when we were supposed to shoot, so this was Plan B. So happy with the results!

Avery [one year portraits]

When we’re asked to photograph a family more than once, we can’t help but smile. Not only does it let us know that they were happy with their photos the first time, but now we get to see how things have changed with them and, in a small way, become part of their family.

We took pictures of Charles and Brooke last July before their little girl was born. It was a blast being a part of the excitement and the anticipation of her arrival. Now, they have a beautiful little girl, Avery, who is almost one and is full of life! It was great seeing how their family has grown and how Charles and Brooke have fallen perfectly into being parents. It really was special for us to be a part of!

Daniel & Lindsey [+ One]

We thought we would interrupt the wedding craziness with a sweet little baby bump…

Daniel and Lindsey are expecting their first babe at the end of July and we were honored to capture the excitement between the two of them for all that is to come. Lindsey is one of those pregnant women that just makes you want to be pregnant. You’ll see what I’m talking about in a sec. She’s stunning! I’m already looking forward to doing some sweet newborn photos of this little one. I can only image how beautiful he or she will be!

Eli’s 1st Birthday Smash Cake

Finally!!! We have been waiting to debut this shoot since the end of November! These images were used as part of our parents’ Christmas gifts, so we had to keep them hidden for awhile. As you may or may not know, the smash cake is one of the main events at every first birthday party. The idea is that the one year old has never had cake before, so they get their own little cake to eat however they’d like, which usually results in lots of personality showing through and a huge mess that’s just tons o’ fun! I had a vision of Eli’s smash cake sometime late last summer (His birthday isn’t until November 23, mind you!) and knew we would want to document this fabulous occasion in a special way.

So on Eli’s actual birthday, Matt, my mom (Eli’s entertainment), and I set everything up and had our first official Smash Cake Shoot! In addition to the cake smashing, I wanted to be sure that we really captured the essence of Eli at one year. As a mom, I’m so afraid I’m going to forget the little things that make Eli “Eli” — his expressions, mannerisms, favorite things, sweet little toes. As you’ll see in the first few images, “Pup Pup” joined us for part of the shoot, which will always remind us of our sweet boy’s first year.

As Eli’s mommy and daddy, as well as photographers, we were thrilled with the results of this shoot and are so excited to offer it to you! So from here on out, we will officially offer First Birthday Smash Cake Shoots, which will also include a non smashing mini shoot. We will provide a dreamy little cake, which I will work with you to design, decide on the location and the look and feel you want, and let your little munchkin go to town! Emily Reese – 3 Months [baby portraits]

Oh. My. Perfect. You may remember Emily Reese and her perfectly puckered lips, super sleepiness, and tiny hands and feet from her new born session several months ago. I had the honor of photographing her again for her 3 month portraits, and she’s still just as perfect! The reason I LOVE baby portraits so much is that I think the closest we can get to perfection in this world is a baby. What an incredible privilege I have to capture that sweet perfection!

McMullan Family [portraits]

I loved this shoot! This family has a 3 month old little boy named Jackson with these killer blue eyes and fun personality. I was excited to be able to take some pictures of just him in our ’studio’, allowing him to strip down and still be comfortable, and then head outside with the whole family to get some shots of the three of them. It was fun and everything turned out great!

I love Jackson’s hats, especially the blue one, because it really accentuates his eyes. And I love the lighting of the three of them in the flowers – I had a hard time narrowing down which pictures to show. Anyway…I’ve said “I love” enough, so enjoy the pics!

Bridges/Timms Family [portraits]

Several months ago, I met Brooke and Charles as they were expecting their little girl and took these pictures. They were anxious and excited for all that was ahead of them. Well, now she’s here! And a few days ago, we met back up with them, as well as Brooke’s whole family, for a few more pictures. I asked Charles how things were going, he he replied with a huge grin…Better than I ever imagined. I like that.

Miss Paige [newborn portraits]

Little Miss Paige is showing signs of a sassy spirit at the early age of just two weeks! It was obvious that she has already learned quite a bit from having two older brothers. 1.) I need to show everyone who is in charge here. 2.) There is always something fun going on, and I don’t want to miss it!

Paige seemed to be well aware of all that was going on around her. She seemed to be especially in tune with the fact that we desperately wanted her to sleep! Just when we were about to call it quits and declare Paige to be victorious after almost two hours of bright eyes, she started to blink slowly, relaxed her tiny little body, and went to Sleepy Town. At last, we have a sleeping baby girl. [sigh]
