Dan & Erin [Charleston Maternity]

Dan and Erin are adventurers who love to be outside, run races, rock climb, and more! In a couple of months, they starting a whole new adventure – loving on and raising a little girl!

We had so much fun enjoying the sunset at Folly Beach and capturing this time in their lives. There are several photos of them on the rocks that I think perfectly reflect who they are and where they’re headed. I’m looking forward to seeing future photos of the three of them and seeing what new adventures they go on!

Back in January, Leah asked if I’d take some shots of her and Zoe (her daughter) as an anniversary surprise for her husband, and then do a few more of all of them after their anniversary. I loved it! I could see the excitement in Leah’s face and the fun she was having trying to plan and schedule this while keeping the surprise from Charles. It was fun to be a part of!

Charles and Leah … you have a wonderful family and a cute little girl! Thanks for letting me spend some time with you guys!

Meet the Baughmans!

They are a fantastic family with two little boys who have fun, adventurous personalities. They were a pleasure to photograph and a blast to be with. And as a side note, it was pouring when we were supposed to shoot, so this was Plan B. So happy with the results!

As a photographer, and especially as a dad, I love watching kids experience things for the first time – they’re full of curiosity and want to explore/experience everything! And it’s so much fun to watch them approach something new with cautious excitement. It’s often the simplest stuff…the stuff we, as adults, look over and may never even notice. But when we get to experience a moment through them … there’s nothing better.

I was downtown with a family a couple weeks ago and love this progression. You can see in the first few shots his timidity, as he wants to hold his dad’s hand to make sure it’s safe. But then, by the end, he’s in the middle of it all…getting soaked and loving it!

Avery [one year portraits]

When we’re asked to photograph a family more than once, we can’t help but smile. Not only does it let us know that they were happy with their photos the first time, but now we get to see how things have changed with them and, in a small way, become part of their family.

We took pictures of Charles and Brooke last July before their little girl was born. It was a blast being a part of the excitement and the anticipation of her arrival. Now, they have a beautiful little girl, Avery, who is almost one and is full of life! It was great seeing how their family has grown and how Charles and Brooke have fallen perfectly into being parents. It really was special for us to be a part of!

I just LOVE that we’ve had the opportunity to photograph several kiddos close to Eli’s age recently! This is such a fun phase, filled with giggles, hilarious faces, and just a general overflow of excitement! Emma’s parents and grandmother brought her down from the upstate to get her 2 year old portraits done. Isn’t that awesome? Matt and I feel so blessed with the clients that God sends across our path!

My family constantly makes me smile. Jenna and I have been married for just over 4 years and it’s crazy to think about all the fun we’ve had and the adventures we’ve been on. So when I look at these pictures of my family, I can’t help but smile. I think back to our days at Clemson, when we were dating and wondering what life would be like together, and now here we are … all that seems like yesterday.

Cohen [2 year photos]

Matt and I love photographing kiddos around Eli’s age. For one thing, we’re completely comfortable and know exactly what they’ll like and what will make them laugh, since we’ve spent hours figuring it out at home! For another thing, it’s always neat to see the similarities and differences between Eli and others in this fun phase of toddlerhood. It’s so interesting to see the different ways kids communicate, socialize, express their wants and needs, etc. We had a great time hanging out with Cohen and his parents! He is just a complete sweetheart and such a great mix of gentle and all boy! Kelly and Andy, thank you for the opportunity to capture the spirit of your precious boy!

The van Hees were a fun family! In town for their 10th anniversary, it was a pleasure playing on the beach with them and capturing their family. And watching their little boy play with his Dad made me excited for the good times to come with me and Eli. It was a fun day.
