Beach Wedding + Beach Cruiser Getaway + Awesome Couple = A fun night!

The one thing I love most about this couple is how genuine and real they are. I’ve never met a couple so appreciative for the things they have, the things they have been given, and the folks that surround them…truly awesome! And their wedding – a small, intimate wedding at Folly Beach – was a perfect reflection of them and a true joy to be a part of!

Thanks for letting me be a part of your day, Luke & Charissa! Never lose that contagious excitement you possess!

Drew & Jennifer are married! [Aiken Wedding]

We were privileged to take Drew and Jennifer’s engagement photos and then Jennifer’s bridal portraits. Whenever we’re given this opportunity, we love it! It allows all of us to get to know each other and become friends before the wedding. This not only allows everyone to be more comfortable and natural in front of the camera, but for Jenna and I, we get to watch and be apart of the excitement throughout the whole process…which is something we love!

Drew and Jennifer had a beautiful wedding in the charming town of Aiken! They were surrounded by a huge group of friends and family that made the day truly special and a joy to capture. And after many months of anticipation and excitement, it was an awesome event to be a part of!

Drew and Jennifer…congrats! Thanks for letting us be a part of your journey and your story!

Kyle & Emily are married! [Durham Wedding]

It’s early on a Saturday and already everyone’s moving about and buzzing with excitement for Kyle and Emily’s wedding. We show up at the hotel where Emily and her girls are getting ready and they’re all grinning from ear-to-ear and laughing with excited anticipation for the day. We never had our doubts, but we knew at that moment it was going to be a great day!

Kyle and Emily were married at Blacknall Presbyterian in Durham, North Carolina and had a ceremony that felt like a hug – uplifting, emotional, and comfortable. That might seem a little weird, but it truly possessed a feeling of warmth and emotion in an amazing way. It was a blessing to photograph.

Their reception…oh wow…how cool! Their reception was in an amazing, rustic brick loft called The Cotton Room. The hardwoods, the exposed brick, the huge windows that let in brilliant light, and the old wood beams made this place a photographers dream. But Kyle and Emily also added details of their own…details that put on the finishing touches that really made it come alive. It was awesome!

Kyle and Emily – congratulations! We couldn’t be happier for you and couldn’t be more excited for all that’s ahead of you!

Chad and Sarah are married! [Charleston Wedding]

Chad and Sarah were married at Alhambra Hall a few weeks ago on a beautiful evening! The evening had a cool breeze and truly made it the perfect setting for a wedding underneath the oaks. And everyone there was nothing but smiles.

Chad and Sarah, you’re a fun couple and I wish you the best of luck and a life-long marriage!

A few weeks ago we were at a wedding and while I was taking ‘formal’ shots of the bride and groom, Jenna was off to the side and snagged this awesome shot!

There are many things I love about working with my wife, but I love when we have moments like this… where we both are taking the same picture, just from a different perspective, and it’s not until after the wedding when we upload and review the images that we realize what we got.

Will and Ashley are married! [Charleston wedding]

Oh my word, what a fun couple! Ashley, Will, and their wedding party were all hilarious and energetic (yeah, that’s an understatement!) throughout the entire wedding day and especially on the dance floor! Every time we got together with Ashley and Will it was like hanging out with good friends. And by the end of the wedding night, we had guests coming up to us asking how we knew the couple – implying that we were more than ‘just photographers’. Since we strive to invest in each of our couples and get to know them before the wedding day, we took that as a huge compliment! This was our last wedding of a crazy spring streak, and it was a great note to end on! A & W, thank you for giving us the chance to be part of your wedding day. And even though you’re peacing out and leaving us behind in Charleston, you better not be strangers! We’ll expect a visit this fall!

Mike and Betsy are married! [charleston wedding]

Mike and Betsy are such genuinely great people and so perfect for each other! Matt and I felt that the first time we met them. We loved getting to know their friends and family throughout their beautifully classic wedding day. I loved all of the carefully planned details that stood out as we looked back through the pictures — Betsy’s perfect blue shoes, custom made bridesmaids dresses, six pence in Betsy’s shoe that was given to her as a baby, the unbelievably gorgeous Grace Episcopal Church, the Rolls that transported the bride and groom to the reception (This one especially gets my heart racing!), a wedding cake made by a friend (!), and the oh so Charleston horse and carriage that whisked the couple away as they waved goodbye to the closest people in their lives. Mike and Betsy, thank you for trusting us with the task of preserving one of the most important days of your lives. We were honored to be there!

Matt and Lauren are married! [Atlanta Wedding]

Boy oh boy, we are excited to share this one with you!!! When you start with a beautiful, fun couple, like Lauren and Matt, add Ashley Baber Weddings to step in and work their magic, plan everything at amazing venues like the W Hotel and The Foundry at Puritan Mill, invite an incredibly lively group of friends and family to get the party started, and throw a rockin’ DJ in the mix (Omar with Spectrum Entertainment), the result is one fabulous wedding day that ends in a crazy party on the dance floor! Seriously, it was an incredible day. And this dance party was so packed that we had to stand back and capture the excitement rather than jumping right into the middle of it – although we tried! From start to finish, this wedding day was a photographer’s dream! Lauren and Matt, thank you for giving us the opportunity to be part of such an important day in your lives. We wish you the best and hope to stay in touch!

This was awesome! Lauren’s grandparents were unable to make the trip down south for the wedding, so Jason from Digital Video Productions conducted a live stream so they could watch throughout the entire evening! So touching…

There are times during a shoot when we take a shot that we just know is going to be killer. And when we get back and upload all the images, we browse straight to that one. Well, this was one of those shots!

We presented this image mounted and enlarged to Kristy and Kirk, and it looked awesome. But since we couldn’t do the same for all of you, we think it at least deserved its own post…
